BENGALURU: In a major surgery to the police department, the state government has transferred 31 IPS officers. Besides, several officers have also been promoted.
Prem Shankar Meena, who was the Additional Director General of Police (ADGP) of Karnataka Lokayukta, has been promoted as Director General of Police (DGP) and posted as DGP (Training). Dr S. Parashiva Murthy, who was ADGP of KSRP, will be replacing him. H.N. Sathyanarayana Rao, who was ADGP of Home Guards & Civil Defence, has been promoted as DGP and will take over as DGP (Prisons).
IGP of North-Eastern Range, Kalaburagi, Sunil Agarwal, has been promoted to the rank of ADGP and will be posted as ADGP of Directorate of Civil Rights Enforcement, while N. Shivakumar, who was IGP of State Human Rights Commission (SHRC), has been promoted as ADGP and will continue to be in the SHRC.
IGP C.H. Pratap Reddy, who was Additional Commissioner of Police (West) in the city, has also been promoted to the rank of ADGP and will be posted as ADGP in the CID, which is also an upgraded post.
DIG M. Nimbalkar Hemant has been promoted as IGP and posted in the Economic Offences, CID wing, while Manish Kharbikar, who was on UN Assignment in New York, has also been promoted as IGP. Soumendu Mukherjee has also been promoted as IGP and will take over as Belagavi Police Commissioner.
