Telangana: 3 Simi terrorists on the run, pose threat

There is no information about the whereabouts of the three SIMI terror suspects, says Intelligence official.
Hyderabad: Three SIMI terrorists are still at large following the April 2015 Nalgonda encounter in which two suspects were shot dead.
Anti-terror agencies have failed to trace the three others who had escaped from Khandwa jail and were involved in the Choppadandri robbery of Karimangar.
The terror suspects on the run have been identified as Shaikh Mehboob Guddu alias Malik, Zakir Hussain Sadiq alias Vicky Don alias Vinay Kumar and Amzad alias Daud, the last two residents of Khandwa.
A top intelligence official of Telangana said, “There is no information about the whereabouts of the three SIMI terror suspects. Efforts to nab them didn’t fructify. They still pose a serious threat.”
In April 2015, Mohammed Aijajuddeen and Mohammed Aslam alias Bilal, of Madhya Pradesh, were killed in the Nalgonda encounter.
All five were part of SImI’s “terror funding through robbery” module. Police had confirmed their role in the Rs 46-lakh SBI robbery in Choppadandi, Karim-nagar and in several other bank robberies across the country.
The accused were also involved in the Bijnor blast. They had been manufacturing IEDs when one exploded.
They took the injured, identified as Mehboob alias Guddu, to a hospital where they were caught on CCTV and the footage matched with the images of the suspects.
Probe in Nagpur arrests continues
According to the Special Investigation Team of Hyderabad police, clarity regarding links of the three cousins arrested in Nagpur earlier with Dukhtaran-e-Millat chief Ms Asiya Andrabi will emerge after their interrogation in police custody.
CCS joint commissioner Prabhakar Rao said, “We are awaiting court orders on the custody petition. If we get police custody we may get some more details.”
SIT police said Abdul Basith, Omer Farooq and Maaz Hassan will be taken to Adilabad for recovery of the two-wheelers which they had kept with a mechanic while on their way to Nagpur.
Meanwhile Intelligence Bureau officials are verifying the activities of Dukhtaran-e-Millat .
