Telangana: BRS/LRS deadline extended
The original deadline ended on December 31.
Hyderabad: The TS government on Thursday extended the deadline for submitting applications for Building Regularisation Scheme/ Layout Regularisation Scheme (BRS/LRS) by one more month, till January 31.
The original deadline ended on December 31, but there has been poor response to the scheme so far.
The government received just 65,079 applications for LRS and 62,759 applications for BRS across the state in the three months since the schemes were announced in October.
The applicants were asked to pay Rs 10,000 fee to apply for LRS/ BRS.
The government earned Rs 48.79 crore from LRS applications and Rs 37.89 crore from BRS applications.
Officials expect to earn Rs 1,000 crore towards penal charges, if all the applications are approved.
MAUD principal secretary M.G. Gopal said orders extending the deadline till January 31 were issued on Thursday.
