Release of Killing Veerappan delayed

The Kannada version has already hit the screens

The much-talked-about Ram Gopal Varma’s Killing Veerappan, which was supposed to release on Friday, was delayed. Sources said that a few censor certificates took some time being cleared, thus the delay.

The film is originally a Kannada flick and the makers had applied for a censor clearance in Karnataka. The officials, however, had asked for a no-objection certificate from the Animal Board in Chennai. But it took time to produce the certificate as the Chennai office was damaged in the recent floods.

The Censor Board cleared the film for the other languages only when the original Kannada version was cleared.

Sources said that the film might hit the screens later on Friday or on Saturday morning. “The Kannada censor got delayed till 8 pm on Thursday. We can get the Telugu censor certificate only after the Kannada censor certificate is issued. All legalities have been sorted,” said an executive producer of the film.

Puneet Rajkumar is playing the lead character of a cop while a new actor, Sandeep, is playing Veerappan. The Kannada version has already hit the screens, added the executive producer.
