It looks like there’s a dearth of titles in K’town! The trend started with using Rajinikanth’s old blockbuster titles, which are now much preferred by filmmakers for their new films. Now, the filmmakers’ interest has shifted to film titles by the legendary MGR and Sivaji Ganesan as well. Vijay Sethupathi, who is juggling various flicks, has signed yet another film for his good friend and Kakka Muttai director Manikandan.
Interestingly, it has been titled Aandavan Kattalai, the title of a yesteryear Sivaji classic. Reportedly, the new movie will have a lot of drama with a dash of romance and comedy. Madurai Anbu, who produced Dhanush’s recent film Thanga Magan, is bankrolling this film.
The songs of Aandavan Kattalai were scored by the late popular duo Viswanathan -Ramamurthy and were a highlight of the movie. For Sethupathi’s film, music composer K has been roped in. All other details including the heroine are still being worked out.
While Sethupathi is busy with films such as Dharmadurai and the cop movie Sethupathi, Manikandan is waiting to release his award-winning movie Kuttrame Dhandanai.
