Traffic curbs on MG Road, nearby areas
Bengaluru: The Bangalore City Traffic Police will restrict and regulate the vehicular movement and parking options on M.G. Road, Brigade Road, Church Street, St. Marks Road, Rest House Road and Residency Road on the night between December 31 and January 1, 2016.
No entry
There will be no entry for vehicles, except police vehicles and vehicles of essential services on duty, from any direction from 8 p.m. on December 31 up to 1 am on January 1, 2016 on the following roads.
M.G. Road: From Anil Kumble junction up to the junction with Residency road near the Mayo Hall.
Brigade Road: From Cauvery Emporium Junction to the Opera Junction.
Church Street: From its Brigade Road intersection to Museum road intersection.
Museum Road: From its M.G. Road intersection to Old Madras Bank road intersection.
Rest House Road: From its Museum Road intersection to Brigade Road intersection.
Kamaraj Road: From Cauvery Emporium junction to Cubbon road junction and Cubbon road junction to Arts and Crafts Emporium.
Residency Cross Road: From Residency Road to M.G. Road (Shankarnag Theatre junction)
Parking restrictions
Parking of all types of vehicles except police vehicles and vehicles of essential services on duty, is prohibited from 4 pm on December 31 to 3 am on January 1, 2016 on the following roads.
M.G. Road: From Anil Kumble junction up to Trinity Circle.
Brigade Road: From Arts and Crafts junction up to Opera Junction.
Church Street: From its intersection with Brigade road up to St. Marks Road intersection.
Rest House Road: From its intersection with Brigade road to Museum Road intersection.
Museum Road: From its intersection with M.G. Road to Old Madras Bank Road intersection.
Vehicles parked on M.G. Road, Brigade Road, Rest House road, Church Street, Residency road and St. Marks road in the area specified above shall be removed by the riders/drivers before 4 pm on December 31, failing which they will be towed away by the police and penalised.
Parking allowed
Parking of vehicle is allowed on both sides of Kamaraja road from Kamaraja road junction to Commercial Street junction. Public can also park their private vehicles at 1st floor B.M.T.C. Shopping complex in the Shivajinagar Bus Stand area.
Diversions
After 8 pm on December 31, vehicles coming from the direction of Queen’s Statue junction on M.G. Road and proceeding towards Halasuru and beyond will turn left at Anil Kumble Circle, at B.R.V. Junction, turn right into Cubbon road and proceed on Cubbon road and join M.G. Road near Webb’s junction.
Vehicles proceeding in the direction of Cantonment areas, from Halasuru will turn right near Trinity Circle and enter Halasuru road, turn left on Dickenson road and proceed towards Cubbon Road. Movement of vehicles on the flyovers will be closed from 9 pm on December 31 till 6 am on January 1, 2016 so as to avoid incidents like accidents and crashes.
Special appeal by traffic cops
In an appeal to New Year Eve revelers the police has urged that those driving a car or two-wheeler should abstain from alcohol, help ferry their friends safely and also ensure the safety of other road users, to ensure safe and accident free New Year celebration.
Police helplines
Road users and motor cyclists who cause inconvenience to other public by indulging in rash and negligent driving or those who indulge in wheeling or drag racing will be dealt with sternly. People are requested to contact the traffic helpline by dialing 103 or 100 in case they come across any such situations or if they are in trouble.

St. Mary’s Basilica
One of Bengaluru's oldest churches, was first established in 1799 by Fr. Jain Dubois. It was pulled down in 1832 after communal riots and construction of the present building began decades later, in June 1875, in Shivajinagar, where it remains. The church draws footfalls over 10,000 people from across South India, who travel to the city each year in December for the services.

St. Patrick’s Church
Located in the heart of the city, St. Patrick's Church is one of the oldest in the Archdiocese of Bangalore and once served as a Cathedral more than a personal parish. Today, it has a flourishing parish in the city centre.
