KCR greets First Lady, briefs Governor on MLC polls
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, accompanied by his wife Sobha, called on Governor E.S.L. Narasimhan at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday.
Though Mr Rao, had basically gone to greet the Governor’s wife Vimla Narasimhan on her birthday, the CM took the opportunity to discuss various issues concerning the state with Mr Narasimhan for over an hour.
Mrs Narasimhan thanked Mr Rao and his wife for the gesture. She later interacted with mediapersons and extended her New Year greetings to the people of both Telangana and Andhra Pradesh state.
“The two states should prosper and progress in all fields. I wish the best for the people of the two states of TS and AP,” she said. To a question, Mrs Narasimhan said that the best gift she ever got in her life was her husband.
Mr Rao and his wife presented fruits, saree, yagam prasadam and gifts to Mrs Narasimhan. It is learnt that Mr Rao briefed the Governor on MLC results, the Cabinet meeting on January 2, GHMC polls, proposed waiver of pending domestic power bills and taxes as part of sops to city voters, launch of new power units etc.
