New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj informed that the Indian embassy officials in Saudi Arabia have reached out to distressed Indian nationals who were duped by a placement agency.
About a dozen youth from eastern Uttar Pradesh were duped by their placement agency and had to spend more than a fortnight in a bus on the outskirts of Dubai. Later, some of the Indian expatriates arranged for their accommodation.
Earlier, in a tweet, Swaraj said the victims had contacted Embassy in October requesting to leave Saudi Arabia. The Embassy then provided a lawyer to fight their case. The next date of hearing is scheduled for January 6.
