Visakha Utsav to be grand affair
Chandrababu Naidu would take part in the Visakha Utsav on January 2.
Visakhapatnam: Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu would take part in the Visakha Utsav on January 2, said HRD minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao. On Tuesday, Mr. Rao reviewed the preparatory measures at a meeting, ahead of the Visakha Utsav and Partnership Summit. Mr. Rao called upon the Vizagites to take an active role in the upcoming Visakha Utsav from January 1 to 3. “Various programmes are lined up for the Utsav which would reflect the culture of Andhra Pradesh. Right from tableaux and flower shows to traditional handicraft exhibitions and food festivals the Visakha Utsav is going to be a grand affair,” Mr. Rao added.
Mr. Rao also informed that various shopping complexes and hotels would offer huge discounts. “On the first day, finance minister Yanamala Ramakrishnudu would attend as the chief guest and on the last day several ministers would take part.” Earlier, district collector Dr. N. Yuvraj explained various steps undertaken by the district administration for the festival to the HRD minister. GVMC Commissioner Pravin Kumar, VUDA VC Baburao Naidu, MLA Vishnu Kumar Raju and others were present.
