Wife says no to sex, man buries infant alive
Raipur: In a ghastly incident, a man in a Chhattisgarh town buried his two-and-half-month old son alive to avenge denial of sex by his wife, police said on Tuesday. The gory incident occurred at Beldapara on the outskirt of district headquarter town of Durg nearly 70 km from here on the intervening night of December 27-28.
The incident however came to light late on Monday night when the victim’s mother, Seema Gond (19), filed a FIR in the local police in this connection. “Seema’s husband Rakesh Gond (20) came home drunk at around 1.30 in morning of Monday and demand sex from his wife, who was then breast feeding the baby. Rakesh got infuriated when Seema refused to oblige him and snatched the toddler from her. He carried the baby outside and buried him alive at a place close to his home”, Durg city superintendent of police A.N. Upadhyaya told Deccan Chronicle.
According to the FIR, later Rakesh took his wife to the spot where he had buried the infant. Seema reported the incident to the police almost 12 hours later. “Body of the kid has been recovered and sent for postmortem. The accused has been absconding”, Mr Upadhyaya said.
