Telangana IT minister KT Rama Rao reveals vision to boost infra, says no wish for CM’s post
Hyderabad: Monday turned out to be pretty manic for IT and panchayat raj minister K.T. Rama Rao. Just hours after hosting the bosses of IT giants Microsoft and Infosys at the city’s ambitious T-Hub, Mr Rao came to the Deccan Chronicle office on invitation and held forth on a range of issues from hi-tech to sewerage and roadside food stalls.
“Me, the Chief Minister? Please. Let me go on record to state that I have no intention or aspiration to become the next Chief Minister,” Mr Rama Rao said with disarming candour.
Fresh from meeting Microsoft’s CEO Satya Nadella and Infy’s Vishal Sikka, Mr Rama Rao said, “It’s a private visit for Mr Nadella, he's here to meet his father. The last time I met him, I told him about T-Hub, the largest start-up incubator in the country, and he agreed to come and visit. He’s a Hyderabadi and is obviously, very supportive.”

And then he effortlessly plunged into the nitty-gritty of 100 per cent tax collections, moved with ease to talking about providing more lifestyle options for the city, discussed the civic infrastructure problems and rolled out a grand vision for sports. All done without stumbling for words, all done with a touch of humour.
The big question: What about the GHMC polls: KTR, as he is popularly known, is confident of a TRS win. “Mark my words, we’ll be winning. This state has long suffered from ignored infrastructure needs, that’s no longer the case.”
