DDCA probe: No clean chit to Arun Jaitley, says Arvind Kejriwal

CM Arvind Kejriwal said he would not apologise for targeting Jaitley.

New Delhi: Delhi Government on Monday rejected BJP’s contention that Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley was given a clean-chit by an inquiry committee it had appointed to investigate alleged irregularities in DDCA affairs which was headed by him for around 13 years till 2013.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said he would not apologise for targeting Jaitley as “no clean chit” was ever given while his Deputy Manish Sisodia posed four questions to the Finance Minister and BJP over the alleged financial bunglings in DDCA when Jaitley headed the the cricket body and wondered why they were “running away” from a probe.

Meanwhile, making it clear that he was not targeting Mr Jaitley, the suspended BJP MP sought to drag Congress leaders in the row, alleging that the previous UPA government did not take action because many of its nominees were working as DDCA directors and were “party to wrongdoing and remiss in their duties.”

‘Without due diligence crores of rupees were transferred in bank accounts having fake addresses. It was a monumental fraud,” the suspended party leader said on Monday.
