India keen on boosting ties with Iran: Narendra Modi

Modi expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations with the country.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi said India attaches high importance to its relations with Iran.

During his meeting with the Iran's Economic Affairs and Finance minister Dr. Ali Tayyebnia, Prime Minister expressed readiness to further strengthen bilateral relations with the country, including in the areas of trade, investment, oil and gas, connectivity, port development.

Dr. Ali Tayyebnia is in New Delhi for the bilateral Joint Commission meeting co-chaired by External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj. Prime Minister Modi also recalled his fruitful meeting with Iranian President Rouhani in Ufa, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit, in July this year.
