Hyderabad: The much-awaited GHMC poll notification will be issued within the next two to three days so as to complete the entire process before the January 31, 2016 deadline set by the High Court.
This was disclosed by State Election Commissioner V. Nagireddy to newsmen here on Monday after a review meeting with election officials and GHMC commissioner B. Janardhana Reddy.
“We will comply with all instructions issued by the High Court in this regard,” Mr Nagireddy said. Over one lakh government officials, including police personnel will be deployed for the polls for the GHMC which accounts for one-third of the total TS electorate.
Mr Janardhana Reddy said that so far, the GHMC has verified 3,91,369 claims from voters on deletion of their names, of which 2,90,942 have been processed and approved, while 46,612 have been rejected.
