Chandrababu Naidu requests Japan to invest in tourism, pharma
Toyama became a developed city in a short span of two years, after bifurcation from another big state in Japan.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu exchanges documents of MoU with Takakazu Ishii, Governor of Toyama prefecture, Japan, in Vijayawada on Monday.
Vijayawada: The Andhra Pradesh government entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Toyama state of Japan with regard to investment in various sectors like the pharma and tourism. The 19-member Japanese delegation, along with industrialists led by Toyama governor Takakaju Ishii, visited various locations in Amaravati capital region and later met Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu and then exchanged the documents relating to the MoU here on Monday.
On the occasion, Mr Naidu said Toyama became a developed city in a short span of two years after bifurcation, similar as AP. Mr Naidu said AP has 972-km longest seacoast and that there were huge investment opportunities in the ports, aqua, seafood-based industries, tourism and pharmaceutical sectors. Toyama tops the pharmaceutical sector in Japan, he said and requested the Japanese delegation to establish industries in AP.
Besides, the CM also proposed to establish a task force to prepare an action plan between the two states for business and investments. He also hoped that massive development would be possible through exchange of education programmes, tours and that it could produce more entrepreneurs also. He said AP was the most suitable State in the country for investments and that industrial corridors would be established between main cities.
However, Toyama governor Takakaju Ishi hoped that the AP would be developed as Silicon Valley, in the leadership of Mr Naidu. He said that Toyama became a developed city after facing various challenges, much like AP. The agreement between two states would be useful, he said. Speaker Kodela Sivaprasad, ministers Y. Ramakrishnudu, P Pulla Rao, Narayana were present. AP’s special representative Kambampati Rammohana Rao, chief secretary IYR Krishna Rao and several officials were also present.
Japanese delegation tastes Andhra dishes:
The Japanese delegation, led by Toyama governor Takakaku Ishi, were found to be happy tasting AP food. The 19-members Japanese delegation took part in a meeting with officials in a private hotel here on Monday. The delegation also visited the kitchen in the hotel and observed preparation of dishes. They looked satisfied having idli, dosa, gara and upma.
Mr. Ishii liked the dosa most so much so that he said its taste was awesome. Local MP Kesineni Srinvas and others were present. He was accompanied by finance minister Y. Ramakrishnudu, AP representative K Rammohna Rao and several officials were also present along with them.
