Siddapura police solve murder mystery, arrest six
BENGALURU: Hacking her brother’s murderer to death has landed a 36-year-old woman and her five associates in prison. The Siddapura police cracked the murder of an autorickshaw driver, Jaffer Sadique, who was hacked to death by unidentified people on December 23 near his house in Dayananda Nagar slums, and arrested the six accused.
The arrested are Raziya Sultana, 36, Tabrez Pasha, 33, Mohammad Zaheer, 27, Mohammad Sultan, 23, Syed Ali, 24, and Wasim, 23, all residents of Dayananda Nagar slum in Jayanagar 1st Block, the police said. The main conspirator, Raziya, waited for nine long months to seek revenge for the murder of her 24-year-old brother, Mohammed Kamal, and she was assisted by her husband Tabrej Pasha and his four friends. Kamal, who was Sadique’s friend, had developed feelings for the elder sister of Sadique’s wife earlier this year.
Kamal, who often visited Sadique’s house, came in contact with the woman, who is 24 years old and married. Soon, they started an illicit relationship. Kamal dismissed Sadique’s warning, saying he would marry Sadique’s sister-in-law. An enraged Sadique, with the help of his friends, hacked Kamal to death in March this year. The murder was solved and Sadique was sent to jail. However, he was released on bail earlier this month.
Raziya could not stomach the fact that Sadique walking around free. She plotted the murder along with her husband Tabrez and his associates.
Based on the information given by Sadique’s relatives that they suspected the role of Raziya and her associates, she was picked up and interrogated. She soon confessed to the murder and the police arrested Mohammad Zaheer from Mangammanapalya in Attibele, Mohammad Sultan and Syed Ali from Wilson Garden Grounds and Wasim from near a school in Siddapura.
