Mangaluru: A minor was allegedly raped by a gang of five in Mangaluru city on Sunday. The five accused- Salman, Naufal, Prashanth, Suresh and a minor boy-allegedly sexually assaulted the minor girl on Sunday evening. Police who received the complaint on Monday, have arrested the accused.
One of the accused, Prashanth, is the neighbour of the girl. According to the complaint, on Sunday around 6 pm, the girl received a phone call. Prashanth’s friend Salman spoke to the girl and asked her to come to a house as he wanted to speak to her on an important issue.
When the girl reached the house she saw the five accused including her neighbour, Prashanth inside. She was given juice after which they asked her to come to a room as they wanted to speak to her. When she entered the room, she was allegedly gangraped by the five.
The girl was later left near a college by an accused. As her condition was bad, nearby people helped her reach home. The girl registered a case with the help of activists on Monday.
According to sources, Prashanth is said to have forced the girl to have a sexual relationship with him for some time. When she tried to resist, he is said to have assured her that he would marry her. He also forced the girl to have sex with his friends, the police said.
