Kavya Madhavan completes 25 years in Mollywood
If you look carefully at the school bus that Baby Shamili travelled in Pookkalam Varavayi, you will find a toothless little girl. Kavya Madhavan had just made her acting debut in cinema but her name got noticed much later. Yet if you start counting, this would make it her 25th anniversary in tinsel town.
Kavya as a child first got noticed after the song Vennila Chandana Kinnam in Azhagiya Ravanan became popular, especially among children.
She went on to play sister roles in a few movies like Irattakuttikalude Achan and Krishnagudiyil Oru Pranayakalath before turning a teen heroine opposite Dileep in Chandranudikkunna Dikhil. Since then, Kavya kept getting roles that would have her playing the traditional beauty Malayalis love.
Her deep voice came out on screen only much later, with most of her initial characters given voice by dubbing artistes. In a film she dubbed for herself, Kavya won her first state award for best actress in Perumazhakkalam. The second came in 2010, for Gaddama. The last films she was seen in are She Taxi and Akashavani.
