Guntur: Tadepalli will be the logistics hub of the new capital of Amaravati. The present availability of road, rail and waterway connectivity and future airway connectivity will convert Nulakapeta, Bapujinagar and Undavalli areas of the Tadepalli mandal into performing such a function. It is apt that it should carry out such a service as the airport would come between Tadepalli and Mangalagiri under the capital development plan.
Undavalli is the main centre and gateway to Amaravati. The old Madras National Highway to Chennai from Vijayawada passes through Undavalli, which has the Krishna Canal Junction railway station, roadway and waterway in the Buckingham Canal.
Besides, the Capital Region Development Authority is planning to establish an airport between Undavalli and Mangalagiri. The railways' parcel goods booking and delivery centre is at Tarapeta of Vijayawada railway junction where parcels from all over India will be received and further booked.
The Mangalagiri railway station, which connects to the proposed new capital, Vijayawada and Guntur railway stations, will become an important one. The availability of train, road and waterway and further, air connectivity in the future, are the main reasons to choose Nulakapeta and Bapujinagar of Tadepalli Mandal to be the logistics hub.
Nidamarru, Nekkallu, Vaddamanu, Nulakapeta and adjacent areas were marked as nonpolluting industrial areas which are around the logistics hub. Various industries, including the automobile and others, are situated in Mangalagiri, which is famous for its cotton.
The newly proposed hub would boost exports and imports to and fro the capital region, according to automobile trader, Sk. Karimulla, who pointed out that the availability of road, rail and waterways would be helpful in this. He added that the world famous PI Data Center would start soon at Mangalagiri. Further, other international automobile companies, who would also start their work centres, welcomed the Amaravati logistics hub.
