Security to be tight for New Year

A large police force will also be deployed across the city as part of the arrangements.
Hyderabad: New Year’s Eve will see tight security at major event venues in Hyderabad. The city police has asked every pub, star hotel, resort, and similar establishments to take extreme precaution on December 31. A large police force will also be deployed across the city as part of the arrangements.
As a criterion to get permission for the events, the police has asked the private establishments to install high-resolution CCTV cameras at the venues. The event organisers will have to submit the recordings to the police after the parties.
“Video records, preferably on CD, of minute-to-minute proceedings with built in timeline and dateline from 8 pm till the dispersal of the audience of each event shall be submitted to the office of the Commissioner of Police for inspection. The organisers should submit it within two days after completion of each programme,” said Cyberabad commissioner C.V. Anand.
The police has also imposed a total ban on firearms in the city on the day. Even licensed holders will not be allowed to enter party venues with their arms, officials said.
“Armed cops in intercept vehicles will be present at important places in city. Large number of cops will be on ground and patrolling will be increased on 31st,” said a top cop.
The police has also insisted on installing smoke extinguishers and extra water at the venues to prevent fire accidents.
Gambling is prohibited under the AP Gaming Act 1974 and nude dances have also been prohibited.
