Pipeline fire after CNG leak in Medchal

The fire broke out due to a small leakage in the pipeline and it soon spread.
Hyderabad: A fire broke out after a gas pipeline supplying CNG to Real Agro Industries sprung a leak in Kishtapur village in Medchal. The fire was put out immediately and supply was stopped.
At around 7pm on Sunday night, the fire broke out due to a small leakage in the pipeline and it soon spread. Passersby alerted the company authorities who stopped the supply and rushed to the spot and doused the fire.
According to sources, the 30 mm pipeline was laid underground. But due to recent underground water works, the pipeline had been damaged and was left above ground as the water works were not complete.
The management had been planning to fix it underground after the works were complete. “There were no casualties,” said Medchal inspector S. Rajashekar Reddy.
