Director of Public Instruction crackdown on school youth fest corruption

There are around 20 venues where the students will compete in over 250 items.
Thiruvananthapuram: The Director of Public Instruction has decided to take action against the alleged malpractices prevailing in the school cultural festival.
Those who have served on the judges’ panel continuously for the past three years will have no chance this time for the festival to be held here from January 19 to 25.
DPI M.S. Jaya told DC that there were complaints that the panel members were indulging in corrupt practices with the help of middle men.
“I will go for fresh faces and the names of the judges would be kept a secret,” Ms Jaya said. The issue has to be discussed in various forums and the maximum efforts would be taken to ensure that the competitions are conducted in a fair and transparent manner, Ms Jaya said. There are around 20 venues where the students will compete in over 250 items.
