40,000 students appear for National Eligibility Test examination in Tamil Nadu

More than 12,000 students sat for the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CBSE.

Chennai: More than 12,000 students sat for the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by CBSE on Sunday in the city. While 9 lakh students appeared for the examination across India, more than 40,000 students sat for the examination in Tamil Nadu.

According to Srinivasan, CBSE assistant secretary, there were 24 centres in the city. Some of them being DAV school in Gopalapuram and SBOA school in Anna Nagar and in Mogappair.

In Tamil Nadu the examination was conducted in Chennai, Madurai, Coimbatore, Tiruchy and Puducherry. There were three papers. The first paper was a General Knowledge paper and the other two were respective subject papers.

S. Geetha a candidate said, “The General Knowledge paper was comparatively easier than the subject papers. The second and third papers were not that easy. I hope I score 50 per cent in those papers.”
