2 missing girls murdered, bodies chopped to pieces in Warangal
Warangal: Two minor girls, students of a government-run hostel who had gone missing over a month ago, were found hacked to pieces in the forest near Khaderpet, 40 km from here, on Sunday. The first lead came when locals saw a stray dog carrying a piece of a human limb from the forest into Khaderpet and informed police.
Banothu Priyanka and Banothu Bhoomika, both aged 14, were Class IX students at the social welfare hostel at Muduchekkal-apally in Nallabelli mandal. The girls were last seen on November 11, and a missing complaint was filed on November 23 with the Parvathagiri police. Police could not trace the girls.
Police suspects that they were murdered a fortnight ago. The bodies are sent for post-mortem to check if they were raped before being murdered.
According to Chennaraopet SI Puli Venkat, police began searching the forest and found the bodies of the girls 25 km from their home in Narayanpur tha-nda in Parvathagiri mandal. The victims were identified from their photographs. “We are yet to conclude how the murder took place. We are going to send samples to the forensic lab and based on the reports we will proceed,” Warangal Rural SP Ambar Kishor Jha said.
On November 9, the girls informed their hostel warden that they were feeling sick and sought permission to go home which is 50 km from the hostel.
They were sent along with a senior student. After staying at home for two days, they left on November 11 saying they would return to the hostel. They did not report at the hostel even after 10 days and the hostel warden called up Bhoomika’s father Kishan to inquire.
Taken aback, Mr Kishan and Priyanka’s father Balu began searching for them and finally filed a complaint with the Parvathagiri police on November 23.
“We searched for them at our relatives’ places and after that we filed a complaint with the police, but even they could not find them,” Bhoomika’s father Balu said.
