From India making two new Guinness Records on Yoga day to Indian swimmer Bhakti Sharma setting a world record in Antarctic Ocean and some bizarre record, here are some of the notable records made by India in 2015.
On Yoga Day, India set 2 new Guinness Records with 35,985 participants and 84 nationalities
India on 21st June 2015, set two new Guinness World Records for Yoga with 35,985 participants performing asanas at one venue and as many as 84 nationalities joining in the official observation of International Yoga Day on Rajpath here.
The Rajpath event set two new Guinness World Records on the first International Day of Yoga.
My brick, My Amaravati made it to Guinness Record

AP government’s My brick, My Amaravati got the Guinness Book recognition. MP Kesineni Srinivas launched the programme to enter the Guinness Book Record by purchasing record number of bricks with public participation in the stipulated period of 24 hours.
According to TD leaders, a similar concept was recorded in China with 1.5 lakh people’s participation in a day. The people of Vijayawada purchased over 1.58 lakh bricks at 8.30 pm on Tuesday. The programme would continue up to 9 am on Wednesday too. Urban TD leaders including MP Kesineni Srinivas also celebrated the Guinness Book record occasion at his office.

Kota youth in Guinness World Record for reciting post decimal Pi values up to 70,000 digits
A 21-year-old Indian student has set a Guinness World Record by memorising 70,000 post-decimal digits of Pi, beating a Chinese who had held the record for 10 years.
Rajveer Meena, a resident of Mohocha village in Swaimodhapur district of Rajasthan, had in March this year set the record by reciting post decimal Pi values up to 70,000 digits in 9 hours 27 minutes.
He was awarded the certificate of Guinness World Record for memory on October 1.

Indian swimmer Bhakti Sharma sets world record in Antarctic Ocean

Indian swimmer Bhakti Sharma has set a world record by swimming 1.4 miles in 52 minutes in one degree temperature in the Antarctic Ocean.
Bhakti became the first Indian woman on Tuesday to achieve this feat, beating the record of British open water swimming champion Lewis Pugh and American swimmer Lynne Cox.

The most participants in a hand washing relay is 1,410 achieved by Dr.Kodela Siva Prasada Rao, Hon'ble Speaker APLA (India) as part of Swachh Sattenapalli, in Sattenapalli, India, on 27 April 2015.
The event was part of a campaign by the local Government consisting in building 20,000 toilets in 100 days across rural villages in the Guntur district (India).

Most people in a mountain run - single mountain

The most people running up a single mountain is 2,618 and was achieved by participants of the PNB MetLife Satara Hill Half Marathon, organised by Marathon Association Satara in Satara, Maharashtra, India, on 6 September 2015.
Participants took part in the 4th annual Satara Hill Half-marathon road race event. To qualify towards the record, runners were required to run to the half-way point (10.5Km) which was 1082 feet above the start line. The winner, Biruk Jifar from Ethiopia, completed the race in 1hr 7mins and 47secs.

'Guinness World Records' officially approves 'Bahubali' for making world's largest poster
The team of SS Rajamouli’s Bahubali was trying to create a world record. They were attempting to break the existing record for the biggest poster in the world in the Guiness Book of World Records and Limca Book of World Records.
The record had been held by a poster of 32,000 sq ft. And they have been successful in breaking the record with a poster of 50,000 sq ft
Largest Bharatha Natyam dance

The Largest Bharatha Natyam dance involved 2100 participants and was achieved by Tapasyasiddhi Kala Academy (India) at Shahu Stadium, Kolhapur (India) on 10 January 2015.
The participants involved 2100 females from around the Kolhapur area.

Longest journey by car in a single country
The longest journey by car in a single country is 31,798.2 km (19,758 miles) and was achieved by Ateef Abdulla, Sheetal Shrivastava and Deepak Shrivastava (all India), who toured throughout India from 30 April to 7 June 2015.
Ateef, Sheetal and Deepak, together with passenger Yash Shrivastava, called this journey their 'Drive Against Cancer' - their objective was to raise funds for cancer detection and treatment. The vehicle used was a Mahindra XUV 500.

The largest spiral-bound notebook is 0.78 m² (8.39 ft²) and was achieved by ICICI Bank Limited (India) as measured in The Central Oberoi Mall, Mumbai, India, on 17 May 2015.
The notebook was filled with messages from fans of Amitabh Bachchan (India), a popular film star.

The largest individual laddu weighs 8,369 kg (18,450 lb 7.78 oz) and was made by Sri Bhaktanjaneya Sweets (India), owned by S. Venkateswara Rao (India), in Tapeswaram, Andhra Pradesh, India, on 15 September 2015.
The laddu was made of 2,300 kg (5,700 lb 10 oz) gram flour, 2700 kg (5,792 lb 7 oz) sugar, 2000 kg (4409 lb 3 oz) ghee, 700 kg (1,543 lb 3 oz) candy rock chips, 800 kg (1,763 lb 11 oz) mixed nuts and 70 kg (154 lb 5 oz) cardamom.

The most lit candles in the mouth is 15, achieved by Dinesh Shivnath Upadhyaya (India) in Mumbai, India, on 10 November 2015.
Dinesh Shivnath Upadhyaya (India) previously broke this record in 2014 with 12 lit candles.

The largest blood donation (multiple venues) involved 102,015 participants and was achieved by Sai Akash Mamidi and Mother Blood Bank (India) in 102 blood donation camps across 18 cities in India, on 21 April 2015.
This attempt was organised to raise awareness about blood donation.

The largest electronic keyboard ensemble consists of 400 participants, achieved by Sri Veenavani Music School (India) in Bangalore, Karnataka, India, on 6 September 2015.
All participants played their own keyboard and performed a variety of songs including the Indian national anthem.

The Christmas tree was mostly made up school children from village of Chengannur.

The largest poster is 5,969.61 m² (64,256.34 ft²) and was achieved by Saint Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh Ji Insan (India) as measured at the Shah Satnam Ji Cricket Stadium, Sirsa, India, on 9 September 2015.
The poster was made in promotion for the feature film MSG-2 The Messenger.

Most diamonds set in one ring
The most cut diamonds set into one ring is 3,827 in the "Peacock Ring" which was created by Savio Jewellery (India), as verified on 4 September 2015.
The Peacock Ring weights 50.42 g in total, with an estimated market value of £1,778,879 ($2,744,525) on the date of verification. The diamonds used in the ring have a combined carat value of 16.5.

Indian sets Guinness Yoga record in Hong Kong
29-year-old Indian yoga teacher in Hong Kong 15th February 2015 set a Guinness World Record for performing Yoga continuously for 40 hours non-stop, demonstrating more than 1,500 'asanas'. Yogaraj C P, a yoga instructor based in Hong Kong, broke the record for the 'Longest Yoga Marathon (Male)' by performing continuously for three days starting on Friday and ending this afternoon.
Fastest time to peel and eat an orange blindfolded (team of two)
The fastest time to peel and eat an orange blindfolded (team of two) is 17.15 seconds, and was achieved by Dinesh Upadhyaya and Manish Upadhyaya (both India), in Goregaon, Mumbai, India, on 5 March 2014.
Science teacher Dinesh also holds the record for the most lit candles in the mouth (12), most dice caught (in cupped hands) in 30 seconds while blindfolded (43) and most oranges peeled and eaten in three minutes (6).

India's Shridhar Chillal has made it to the Guinness Book of World records for the longest fingernails on one hand ever.
Chillal, who has not cut his fingernails since 1952, said that he has paid a price for his terrifying talons.
The combined length of his fingernails is 909.6cm and one of his thumbnails alone is two metres long, The Mirror reports.
