Treasured chests

Men are turning to implants for a fuller, tougher looking body.

Gone are the days when men didn’t care much for how they looked. From facials to mani-pedis, it seems the men in our lives are taking extra care to look perfect. The latest trend in the male beauty department is chest augmentation. The treatment is picking up rapidly as an increasing number of men are interested in getting a fuller chest to look well built and strong.

Rising trends show that it’s extremely important for the working man or woman to appear energetic and youthful. Inspired by women’s breast augmentation, men are turning to silicone implant surgery to achieve a more curvaceous and enhanced chest.

Commonly identified as chest implants for men, the surgery enhances the appearance, size and muscular definition of the pectoralis major (chest muscle). The new-age silicone implants are high-grade implants, meant especially to enhance the chest of men.

These implants give men a masculine look. The implants are found to be more appropriate for men, in whom one side of the chest is not developed properly, leaving him with a peculiar absent chest appearance. In technical terms, it is stated that the pectoralis major is absent. Such kind of deformity is also known as Poland’s syndrome.

It involves a minimally invasive procedure with a small cut in the armpit through which a specialised silicone implant is placed into the affected side of the chest. The surgery is usually done during the day. It takes an hour or slightly more for the procedure to be completed. The patient is discharged the same evening and can resume work in 72 hours.

The new-age customised silicone implant helps build confidence and the person doesn’t need to be conscious about going bare-bodied. Apart from chest augmentation, today’s metrosexual men are taking a fancy to other muscle contouring surgeries too. Popular procedures range from butt and calf implants to bicep, tricep and more. The procedures are generally considered to be safe but only if done by skilled surgeons. I have personally conducted around eight chest implants this year.
