In what was an emotionally-charged event, what stood out at the audio launch of Jr NTR’s Nannaku Premato like a sore thumb was the complete blackout of Balakrishna’s name. The Jr NTR family almost sent signals to Balakrishna that they were up for a competition against him.
Neither Kalyan Ram, Jr NTR or Hari Krishna mentioned the name of Balakrishna, even once. In fact, Jr NTR clearly said that he doesn’t want to use the name or support of anyone in the family to get his career going.
In all the earlier film functions, both the brothers spoke about Balakrishna in their speeches. As the differences between Balakrishna and Jr NTR have come to the fore, it seems that avoiding actor Balakrishna’s name was deliberate.
Hari Krishna’s mention that late NTR had said Jr NTR was his heir adds to the drama as Balakrishna was declared the heir of Nandamuri family by late NTR on his entry to the film industry.
Another interesting thing is that no one talked about the movie’s release. Though a few days ago the producer had, through a press release, said the release was on the eve of Sankranti, no one confirmed the date at the event.
There were also allegations that the organisers didn’t issue passes to Nandamuri fans, which included Balakrishna fans, for the audio release function. Now, all eyes are on the Balakrishna camp, which is expected to respond to the recent events, including the heirdom controversy.
