4 year deadline for 2BHK flats: KT Rama Rao
Hyderabad: Reiterating the 19-month-old TRS government’s commitment to the welfare of the poorer sections of society, IT minister K.T. Rama Rao on Saturday said that the government will complete all 2BHK houses within four years and they will be given to the eligible poor for free.
Releasing 8,600 LPG connections for the poor under the ‘Deepam’ scheme, Mr Rama Rao said that the government was contemplating extending interest-free loans worth Rs 10 lakh women’s SHGs soon, up from the existing Rs 5 lakh limit.
The minister participated in a programme organised by the women’s welfare department and SHGs at Necklace Road on Saturday evening where he said that if there was any state government in the country working for the poor, it was the TRS government and none else.
Listing out the various schemes taken up during the last 19 months, Mr Rama Rao said that during the previous government rule, beneficiaries of various schemes had to shell out some amount, but now it was decided that the government will provide everything free of cost.
Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali, ministers Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Nayani Narasimha Reddy took part in the function.
