They went to the terrace of the school building and consumed pesticide for attempting to commit suicide.
Salem: Two students of class 10 who scored low marks in the school revision exams consumed pesticide on the school terrace near Gengavalli in Salem district. According to police, the students of a private school in Thodavur Pudur area near Gengavalli in Salem district were given their progress report cards recently.
As they had scored poor marks, they were too scared to show the report card to their parents. So, they forged the signatures of their parents in the report card and gave it to the teachers.
However, the teachers came to know that they had forged the signatures of their parents. Fearing that their parents would abuse and beat them up, they did not go home on Friday evening. They went to the terrace of the school building and consumed pesticide for attempting to commit suicide.
The duo-students were found lying on the spot in an unconscious state by other students and they alerted the school authorities. They were rescued and admitted to a private hospital in Aathur. They were then referred to another private hospital in Salem for further treatment.
