BJP brushes up its third front plans, to hold meet
Former State president C. K. Padmanabhan has been asked to hold talks with the Christian missionaries as well.
Thiruvananthapuram: National BJP leadership has entrusted State BJP leaders to initiate talks with SNDP Yogam and Christian missionaries on forming the third front. BJP leaders are keen to see that NSS also in the third front.
Former State BJP presidents P. K. Krishnadas and P. S. Sreedharan Pillai have been entrusted to meet NSS general secretary G. Sukumaran Nair soon. BJP State president Kummanam Rajasekharan has already held talks with SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellapally Natesan today.
Former State president C. K. Padmanabhan has been asked to hold talks with the Christian missionaries as well. The core committee meeting of the State BJP leadership will be held in Thiruvananthapuram on Dec. 29 at and it is the first meeting ever since the new State president Kummanam has taken over the mantle.
Mr. Padamanabhan told DC that he along with national BJP leader Alphonse Kannamthanam will be holding talks with all bishops and cardinals after the core committee meeting on Tuesday. Sources close to the NSS general secretary told DC that he is yet to grant any appointment to the BJP leadership.
“Already, Kummanam has called on Vellapally today at his Kanichukulangara residence. Once the party registration of Bharat Dharma Jana Sena is completed, more clarity would be achieved. In another two weeks timem the third front convener post as well as district, assembly and constituency level committees will be formed. But BJP will definitely have an upper hand in the proposed third front compared to the SNDP Yogam”, said a top BJP leader.
On Dec. 30, the State level office bearers meeting will be held in the morning followed by State committee and State council meetings.
The State office council meeting will officially approve the appointment of Kummanam as the State chief.
