Two students held, 13 bikes seized
Hyderabad: Police on Saturday arrested two students involved in many bike-liftings and recovered 13 bikes from their possession. Shaik Naseer Ahmed and G Vasu Reddy, arrested on the basis of CCTV footage, have been sent to judicial remand.
Police said Shaik Naseer studying mechanical engineering is a resident of Saroornagar and Vasu Reddy studying ITI a resident of Kompally. “Naseer is habituated to a lavish lifestyle and turned to be a bike thief. He met Vasu and formed a gang. They disposed of the stolen bikes to unknown persons. Naseer committed eight thefts and Vasu five, in the city,” said East Zone DCP Ravinder said.
A few days ago, Naseer took away a bike parked near Shiva Ganga theatre in Saroor Nagar. “On analysing the CCTV footage, we identified Naseer as he was a previous offender. Naseer’s arrest led to Vasus’,” added the DCP. Naseer is involved in 8 bike theft cases, including 2 each in Saroornagar, Saidabad and LB Nagar and one each in Chaitanyapuri and Nallakunta police station limits.
Vasu is involved in five bike thefts including two in Saroornagar and one each in Saidabad, Malakpet and Chaitanyapuri.
