Priests tell Chandrababu Naidu to copy KCR, perform yagams
Vijayawada: The AP government should perform a ceremony along the lines of Telangana CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s Ayuta Chandi Yagam for divine blessings for the construction of Amaravati, say Pundits. “As per the Puranas, Lord Indra, whose capital was Amaravati, had also performed such yagams before building the city,” they say.
Several prominent astrologers and priests of various temples have recommended special yagams for the AP government for quick completion of the capital city and installation of a smooth administration there.
According to sources, several ministers and prominent leaders have their personal astrologers who perform homams for them. These astrologers have suggested that the government conduct certain rituals to overcome hurdles in the way of capital construction.
Kanchipeetam Asthana Siddhanthi and AP government’s agama adviser, L. Subramanya Siddhanti, said Lord Indra, who ruled Amaravati, had also constructed his capital after conducting the Rajyasyamala Sahitha Kubera Samputita Paasupatha Yagam.
As per Padma and Devibhagata Puranas, the demon Mookasurudu had destroyed Amaravati. Later Lord Indra conducted the Rajyasyamala Yagam and the goddess had helped Indra to rebuild the capital in a grand manner. He said the government could get support from the Opposition too if it conducted the yagam now. Moreover, if so, the government would not face any financial crisis.
MLA and actor Nandamuri Balakrishna’s personal astrologer Karuparthi Nagamalleswara Rao also said that AP needed suitable yagams and homams to overcome the present situation. He said the government should conduct Mahasudarsanam and Rani Chandika Yagams for completing the capital city works without any financial hurdles. The entire state would also benefit from the proposed yagam, he said.
Durga Temple Vedic Committee member Shankar Sandilya meanwhile said the government should conduct an Athirudra yagam and a Sathasahasra Chandiyagam. The state would not suffer from droughts and the capital city works would also be completed speedily.
