Another call money case in Vijayawada
Vijayawada: A victim of the call money racket on Friday complained to the police that a moneylender had attacked their house though they had repaid most of the loan. Ms K. Durga Bhavani, wife of Kakani Rajeswara Rao, told the Kankipadu police that they had borrowed Rs 3 lakh from Veeranki Ramesh three years ago. The interest was fixed at Rs 10 per Rs 100 per month, or 120 per cent a year. Ms Bhavani said the family had returned Rs 2.5 lakh in one tranche six months ago, and had to repay another Rs 50,000 of the original.
She alleged that Mr Ramesh did not return their documents and was now demanding Rs 6 lakh. She alleged that he had taken their signatures on empty bond papers.
Ms Bhavani alleged that Mr Ramesh with more than 20 persons pelted stones at their house, resulting in injuries to some family members. Police has started investigations.
