Radhikaa stands up for Simbu

The actress has voiced her support for Simbu in the ‘Beep Song’ controversy.
In what was meant as a harmless jamming session among friends, the ‘Beep Song’ has taken an ugly turn — it has escalated beyond control with the Tamil Nadu police out to arrest Silambarasan. However, actress Radhikaa Sarath Kumar has voiced her support to Simbu, with regard to the controversy. The veteran actress opened up in an interview to a television channel, where she posed a challenge — “Name an actor in Tamil cinema who has not cussed in front of the cameras. In fact, barring perhaps Rajinikanth and Vijay, many films of actors bigger than Simbu have had their content pass through the Censor Board without a beep. Why create such a ruckus for this unreleased song? It seems absurd that there’s a red alert and arrest warrant issued on him at airports. Is he a terrorist? He is not going to run away. I don’t really understand what the big deal is!”
She added, “I spoke to his parents and they don’t seem to comprehend the issue. I think Simbu himself is confused”. She wrote on Twitter, “Rapist walks free due to a technical snag and why this issue needs all the attention? Or is it diverting attention?” (sic)
Recently, actor and former Nadigar Sangam President Sarath Kumar asked why the Nadigar Sangam was silent over the ‘Beep Song’ issue. The next day, the current Nadigar Sangam president Nasser issued a detailed statement in which the association had condemned the song. Radhikaa did not spare the South Indian Artistes Association either. She also posted the following. “Nadigar Sangam, take a stand. This can happen to any one of you also for singing in the bathroom and taking selfies.”
Meanwhile, on Thursday former actress and Simbu’s mother Usha Rajhendar made a public appearance after nearly three decades through a video on the family owned web channel Kural TV, in which she said, “We’ve been hounded round the clock for the past week by the media and reporters outside our house.” She also defended her son and said he was innocent and that the harassment from all has gone to such an extent that she has considered moving out of Tamil Nadu altogether.
