VM Sudheeran may be held for contempt, says Vellapally Natesan

The SNDP leader said that there was a new culture of criticising the judiciary.
Thiruvananthapuram: SNDP Yogam General Secretary Vellapally Natesan has come down heavily on KPCC president V M Sudheeran for criticising the High Court in connection with the anticipatory bail granted to him.
Reacting to Sudheeran’s statement, Vellapally said the KPCC president had unleashed severe criticism against the court. “Sudheeran has shown that he is someone who would not spare even courts. The Congress leader does not believe in the judiciary which means he has no faith in our democratic system,” he said.
Vellapally said Sudheeran’s statement clearly indicated that political party leaders could criticise anyone including courts. It is a kind of “political landlordism” which cannot be allowed.
The SNDP leader said that there was a new culture of criticising the judiciary. However, such tactics would not work.
“It is not in the interest of justice, decorum and morality. The leaders feel that they can go to any extent to criticise courts. But people will understand their game," he said.
Meanwhile K Muraleedharan, MLA slammed the home department for failing to act sternly in Vellapally case. The police has acted in a wishy-washy manner in this particular case.
