Telangana seeks skill development scheme for minorities

He promised full support of the state government in implementation of the scheme.

Hyderabad: The Telangana government has requested the Centre to start ‘Nai Manzil’ a skill development scheme, as a pilot project in minority-strong Karimnagar district. TRS MP B. Vinod Kumar made a personal request to Union minister for Minority Affairs Najma Heptulla in this regard on Thursday.

Mr Kumar said that the constituency has a population of 23 per cent minorities and the scheme would be useful for them. “Like elsewhere in the country, minorities here lag behind in terms of socioeconomic development and would immensely benefit from the scheme,” Mr Kumar wrote.

He promised full support of the state government in implementation of the scheme in Karimnagar district.
