Begumpet: In ‘dowry harassment’, postal staff ends life
She hanged herself in her apartment in Prakash Nagar.
Hyderabad: A twenty five-year-old Postal Department employee committed suicide alleging harassment from her techie husband in Begumpet early in the morning on Thursday.
P. Lakshmi, a clerk with the postal department in Begumpet, hanged herself in her apartment in Prakash Nagar. Her parents allege she was being tortured by her husband for more dowry.
Her husband P. Yudesh is a software engineer with a multinational company in Gachibowli. According to her parents, a few months after the marriage in 2013, Yudhesh started behaving rudely with her seeking more money as dowry. “As a result, she ran away from the house and took shelter in a friend’s house in July.”
Later, she went and stayed with her parents. “Yudhesh had then filed a missing complaint,” said SI Naga Raju at Begumpet police station.
