Three women among 4 dead in road mishap in Nellore

All the women are fish vendors

Nellore: Four persons died and five others injured two of them critically, when an auto rickshaw overturned between Kammavaripalem and Kadivedu in Chillakur mandal during the early hours of Wednesday.

The victims have been identified as Malli Raja-mma, 40, Challa Ramanamma, 50, Malli Papamma, 50, and auto driver Valipi Venkateswarlu of Kota mandal.

All the women are fish vendors and the mishap took place when they were on their way to fish market in Gudur. The condition of two of the injured Bellamkonda Ramanaiah and Malli Ramanamma is stated to be critical.

According to information, the auto overturned after falling into a trench dug up by R&B workers as part of temporary repairs to the road and it turned as death trap for the passengers.

One of the injured said that the driver had failed to notice the trench whi-le giving side to a vehicle coming in the opposite direction. The other victims Challa Sujatha, Turaka Chenchamma and Balli Sanyasaiah are be-ing treated at Gudur government hospital. The auto driver Venkateswarlu was married only six months ago, the police said.
