President Pranab Mukherjee in Tirumala on December 25
Tirupati: The first citizen of India, Dr Pranab Mukherjee, will offer prayers at the hill shrine of Lord Venkateswara on December 25. The Advance Security Liaison (ASL) inspected the arrangements on the main thoroughfares in Tirupati and Tirumala on Wednesday, ahead of the President’s visit.
Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu will formally receive Dr Pranab Mukherjee on his arrival to the temple city. The Governor of Telugu States, Mr E.S.L. Narasimhan, is also expected to accompany the Prez during Tirumala visit on Friday.
In connection with the visit of President, Tirumala JEO K.S. Sreenivasa Raju on Wednesday reviewed the arrangements with the heads of various departments of TTD.
He has instructed the reception, vigilance, Annaprasadam, temple and PR department officials to be prepared with all arrangements, leaving no stone unturned in facilitating the top VVIPs a comfortable stay and darshan of the deity. He said he will inspect the arrangements on Thursday morning.
The district police and TTD vigilance sleuths organised the trial-run of the convoy deploying personnel all along the route from Tirupati airport to the hill temple at Tirumala on Wednesday. Meanwhile, in the wake of consecutive holidays, TTD has decided to allot VIP break darshan only to protocol VIPs on December 25.
