Fighting cocks raised with call money in Vijayawada

Vijayawada: Raids on call money sex racket scamsters in the city led to unearthing of a poultry farm where fighting cocks are raised on a large scale.

Police raided on another suspect P. Srikanth’s farm houses at Amba-puram in Nunna police station limits in relation to the ongoing call money case on Wednesday. The police found more than 50 fighting cocks. The police officials explained that each one of the fighting cocks would cost from Rs 50,000 to Rs 1,00,000 or even more than that.

Inspector of the police of Nunna police station Ms Sahera Begam stated that the special branch team under the commissioner of police raided the houses of the suspect and found the fighting cocks. The fighting cocks are much in demand at the time of Sankranti.
