A sip of Christmas
On the list of must haves at your Christmas party, it would be a sin to forget the drinks. So, we bring you three simple mixes that will help you set the spirit right — two for adults and a Butterbeer, inspired by Harry Potter, for the juniors.
Red Velvet
Ingredients
- 60 ml Vodka
- 20 ml cranberry juice
- 15 ml strawberry crush
- 1 tsp Watermelon syrup
- Pomegranate seeds
Method: Shake all the ingredients well, except the pomegranate seeds, over ice and strain into a martini glass Garnish with pomegranate seeds

Snowball
Ingredients
- 45 ml Baileys Irish cream
- 15 ml Cointreau
- 15 ml fresh Arabica coffee decoction
- 1 tsp fresh cream
- Chocolate syrup
Method: Shake all the ingredients well over ice and strain into a chocolate rimmed martini glass. Garnish with chocolate shavings, almond slivers and chocolate sticks.

Butterbeer
Ingredients (For the soda)
- Two 350 ml cream soda bottles (chilled)
- ¼ tsp professional strength imitation butter flavour (if using anything less stronger, increase to ½ tsp) for each serving
- A pinch of salt for each serving
- For the foam topping
- ½ cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla extract
- ¼ tsp professional strength imitation butter flavour (if using anything less stronger, increase to ½ tsp)
Method: Whip the heavy cream with sugar, vanilla extract and imitation butter flavour until soft peaks are formed. Set aside. In a beer mug (or a souvenir mug), add the imitation butter and a pinch of salt and mix. Pour in the chilled soda. Top it with a portion of whipped cream and serve. Stir as you savour the marvelous butterbeer.
