Three students hurt as bus hits truck, bike in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Three students were among seven people hurt as a school van belonging to Narayana e-techno School ‘hit’ a container truck, after the van hit a bike and injured the riders at Prashanthnagar in Balanagar area here Tuesday. The drivers of the van and the truck were among the injured. Nearly 35 students were in the van at the time of the incident.
Police said the bus reached near IDPL X roads, picked up students from the area and was heading for the school. The container truck moving ahead of the school van was taking a U-turn at the IDPL X roads. Seeing the truck, bike-borne Raghuprasad, riding along with Class VIII student Premsai, stopped for the truck to move first.
“The school van came and hit the bike and later rammed the truck," said Balanagar inspector P. Bikshapathi Rao. Raghuprasad and Premsai suffered injuries as they fell down. Van driver Yellaiah, 45, was admitted to a private hospital.
“In th ecrash, the van’s windscreen broke, injuring three children,” police said. Based on a complaint from Raghuprasad, a case of “causing hurt by act endangering life” was registered.
