New tourism circuits for Telangana soon
The Centre has sanctioned Rs 99.87 crore for the Mahbubnagar ecotourism project.
Hyderabad: A new ecotourism circuit in Mahbubnagar and tribal tourism circuit in Warangal are in the offing with Central government support in TS. The Centre has sanctioned Rs 99.87 crore for the Mahbubnagar ecotourism project and Rs 92.11 crore for Warangal Tribal circuit. The integrated development of ecotourism in Mahbubnagar includes Somasila riverside development, floating jetties, pathways from temple to ghat, tourist facilities at Singotam, waterfront cottages, illumination of Laxmi temple and hill, beautification of Akka Mahadevi caves, trekking path from Kadali Vanam to Akka Mahadevi caves, hiking, cycling facilities, solar lighting among other amenities.
At Mallella Teertham, approach road would be developed for the convenience of visitors, parking area, upgradation of steps with railing from hilltop to waterfall. At Srisailam, four floating jetties, construction of a terminal building, three new 60 to 80 seater capacity boats, river view development, 20 log huts near the base camp, open air theatre, ropeway, landscaping etc. have been approved. Under PPP mode, waterfront cottages at Singotam, riverfront cottages at Srisailam, heritage hotel and museum at Kollapur Palace, seaplanes from Hyderabad, cruise boats were also proposed.
TSTDC chairman P. Ramulu said that this was the first time the Centre sanctioned two tourism circuits. For the tribal circuit comprising Mulugu, Laknavaram, Medaram, Tadvai,
Damaravai, Mallur, Bogatha waterfalls include wayside amenities, landscaping, water fountain, tourist amenities centre, tribal product display, 12 log huts at Laknavaram, floating jetties, water sports like jet ski, parasailing, pedal boat, speed boat, cruise boat, Rock Garden and water towers. At Medaram Sammakka Saralamma jatara, the world’s largest tribal jatra, tribal interpretation centre, tribal arts and crafts, open amphitheatre of 200 capacity, tented accommodation, 10 cottages and other public convenience have been planned.
At Tadavai, besides a new tourist lounge, a bicycle track, canopy walk, tribal products display, treetop tribal huts, watch towers and machan have been planned. Similar public facilities will also be provided at Damaravai megalithic burials, at Mallur spring waters, Bogatha waterfalls. Work is on full swing on the new Kaloji Kala Kendram at Hanmakonda at a cost of Rs 50 crore including a 1,100 capacity auditorium.
