Hyderabad Metro Rail levels bunk at Putlibowli
HMR had acquired the land earlier.
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail officials demolished a petrol bunk located on a 1,370-square yard piece of land opposite the Osmania Medical College at Putlibowli. HMR had acquired the land earlier.
The petrol pump land was under litigation and a stay on the issue was vacated by the court recently, following which the land was acquired. The owners were paid Rs 15.22 crore.
The petrol pump will give way for circulation space for the Sultan Bazaar Metro Rail station and parking area. The HMR relief and rehabilitation complex has also been planned in the same area where space will be provided for displaced traders.
The building with 70,000-square feet plinth area will have two cellars, ground plus four floors.
According to HMR officials, the land provides direct access from Koti-Putlibowli main road to the complex. The complex will have 80 shops and 100 hawker platforms. HMR managing director N.V.S Reddy said, “The complex will reflect the character and features of Sultan Bazaar.”
