I look the best in cop uniform: Priyanka Chopra at 'Gangaajal' trailer launch

Mumbai: Priyanka Chopra, who left everyone spellbound with her path breaking performance as Kashibai in the recent release ‘Bajirao Mastani’, will now be as a powerful cop in ‘Jai Gangaajal’. The film also marks the acting debut of director Prakash Jha. Priyanka Chopra launched the trailer along with the entire cast and crew yesterday.

From girl-next-door to a corporate woman to a boxer, we've seen Priyanka Chopra take on various roles, and loved her in them too. After pulling off the role of Kashibai in 'Bajirao Mastani' flawlessly, the actress is back as a police office in Prakash Jha's 'Jai Gangaajal'.

The film also marks the acting debut of director Prakash Jha who is playing a cop too. At the trailer launch, Priyanka funnily said, “I am a senior artist than Prakash Jha in the film.” Priyanka is seen doing high-octane action in the trailer.

Priyanka Chopra plays Abha Mathur who is a senior SP in Bankepur talks about her biggest challenge to play the role. She said, “I am brought up in Lucknow and Bareily and an educated girl. Abha is from Bankepur, UP and she is a modern girl as well so to play Abha was easy but the challenge was to be feminine while playing a tough cop at the same time.”

Actress also reveals that ‘Jai Gangaajal’ was her quickest shot film ever, “This film was my quickest film. The total time we had shot is even less than shooting an entire film”, she laughs. ‘I shot the film whenever I got the time between ‘Bajirao Mastani’ and ‘Quantico’, she adds.

When quizzed Priyanka about the hottest cop on screen among Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan, she shrugged and said, “Hang on! I look the best in the cop uniform.” When asked piggy chops about watching ‘Dillwale’, she said, “It such an embarrassing thing that I haven’t seen my own film ‘Bajirao Mastani’ till now. My phone is jammed with calls and messages from all over. Mr. Amitabh Bachchan has sent his wishes via letter written in Hindi. My aunt read out the letter to me and had also sent me its picture.”

Written and directed by Prakash Jha, the film revisits the dusty heartland of Central India, and examines the society– police relationship. Starring Priyanka Chopra, the movie is all set to release on 4th March, 2016.
