Hyderabad techie holds ex-lover captive, tortures her for days
Hyderabad: A woman was held captive for the past five days here in Hyderabad and assaulted physically and sexually by her ex-boyfriend who had allegedly been blackmailing her to marry him. A distress call by the survivor led to the arrest of the man.
According to a report, the accused, Syed Imad Hussain a native of Aligarh and the survivor, 30, were close to each other from their working days in Dell, Gachibowli in Hyderabad. The couple decided to marry but the survivor later changed her mind, citing that her family wouldn’t permit an inter-religious marriage.
Ever since, Hasan has been requesting the survivor to rethink her decision, despite the fact that she moved on and found a new job in Dubai. Hasan started forcing the survivor to video-chat with him every-day, threatening that he would reveal the details of their relationship to her family, along with videos and photographs of them in compromising positions. To put an end to the matter, the survivor agreed to visit him.
"The culprit picked up the victim at the RGI Airport five days ago and took her to his flat and confined her there. He threatened to kill her by showing a knife, a can of petrol and a rope," DSP Kavita was quoted as saying.
He also showed her images of a pistol in his phone, threatening to use it against her if she did not comply with him. He assaulted the survivor, switched her phone off and monitored her social media accounts closely to gauge her family’s reaction to her disappearance.
Plotting her escape, the survivor pretended to be nice to her captor and contacted her colleague from Dell using Facebook, who in turn contacted her family in Karnataka.
The duo approached Hyderabad police who found the survivor confined in one of the bathrooms with several injuries, following which Hassan was arrested and taken into custody.
