The state has hiked the food allowance for police posted on bandobast duty.
Hyderabad: The state has hiked the food allowance for police posted on bandobast duty. The police personnel who are deployed for VIP movements or to curb violence used to get Rs 100 a day as diet charges. The TS government on Monday issued an order increasing it to Rs 200 in Hyderabad and Rs 150 in districts. DGP Anurag Sharma had earlier proposed increasing the amount. An order issued by principal secretary, home, Rajiv Trivedi said that after careful examination of the DGP’s proposal, the government had decided to enhance the diet charges. At least 20 per cent of the police force in city is deployed on bandobust duties on normal days. Most of them relate to VIP visits and movements, officials said.
