Hyderabad: A man allegedly killed his two children and committed suicide by consuming poison on Monday in their hotel. Police said Krishna Reddy 33, a native of Bachannagudem in Kanagal mandal, Nalgonda district, used to run a hotel for about five years near Kepal, Bibinagar mandal. He and his wife Sunitha had two children, Ravali, 11, and Nitish Kumar, 8.
On Saturday, he took the children, who had just returned from school, and left home stating that he would register a 10-acre land at his native village in their name. However, he did not return home by Monday evening. When his wife Sunitha called him on his mobile, he did not respond. Sunitha informed her neighbours and they went to the hotel and opened the shutter.
“They found the kids dead and Krishna Reddy was unconscious. We recovered an empty bottle from the spot, which we have sent for examination,” Bibinagar inspector V. Tirupathi said. Krishna Reddy succumbed while being shifted to hospital. Police suspects that land disputes at his village had resulted in the murder-suicide. Police booked a case and began investigating.
