Pisasu turns angel for Pa.Va

Prayaga Martin in Anoop Menon and Murali Gopy starrer, Pa.Va.

When you make a debut in Tamil with a film directed by renowned director Mysskin and that goes on to become a hit, you tend to set the bar high for your next project. Kochiite Prayaga Martin made an impressive debut playing a ghost in the horror flick Pisasu which was applauded by many across the industries.

So the pretty girl took her time signing her next and found the script of Anoop Menon-Murali Gopy-starrer Pa.Va an attractive proposition.

Busy with the shoot of the film, Prayaga is happy that she is at last making her debut in Mollywood. She says, "I took a small break after Pisasu to pursue my studies and I was adamant that my launch in Malayalam should be an impressive one. Some really good offers came my way but I bided my time to decide. A debut film is something the audience will remember, so I was particular about my launch vehicle. When director Sooraj Tom narrated the script to me, he told me that it would be a complete contrast to the role I played in Pisasu and that caught my attention. While I played a ghost in Pisasu, here I play a complete angelic girl called Mary who enters the lives of Anoop Menon and Murali Gopy."

Prayaga was asked not to get too tanned by the director. Acting with veterans like Anoop and Murali was a memorable experience for the newbie. "Both the actors are very down-to-earth. It is normal for a beginner to have that apprehension but they made me feel very comfortable and gave me advices. I knew that there was a huge responsibility on my shoulders starting off with a film that had two very experienced actors, but after meeting them, everybody made it very easy for me," she says.

Prayaga states that she does not believe in keeping any criteria as far as selecting roles, but believes in destiny. "I always believe that if you badly desire something, the whole world will comply to make that happen. I prefer to go with the flow. But yes, I have some criteria, but I prefer keeping it to myself," she says.

A second year BA Communicative English student, Prayaga very candidly says that her studies and acting complement each other. She explains, "I get to learn poetry and I can actually incorporate the rhythm pattern I learnt there into my dialogues and also vice versa. When you know about commercial cinema, I can actually apply it in my study papers."

Prayaga has a project in Tamil which is an experimental one and is considering some projects in Malayalam too.
