Not one to take a break, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has already started work on his next project — a remake of Subhash Ghai’s ’90s hit Khalnayak.
Says a source, “A couple of months ago, Ghai and SLB were in talks to remake Khalnayak, set in contemporary times. Ghai has also quoted an amount for the film’s rights on which the negotiation will take place soon. He is out of the country currently and once he is back, the two filmmakers will sit together and finalise the deal.”
This is the third time that Ghai has sold his rights for a film, the first two being Hero and Ram Lakhan. Now, SLB, we hear, is keen on featuring his favourite man Ranveer Singh as Balaram Prasad, originally played by Sanjay Dutt in the film. Ranveer however is not the only one essaying Sanju Baba’s role on screen next year. Ranbir Kapoor is slated to play the actor in the Sanjay Dutt biopic being made by Raj Kumar Hirani.
This is not the first time that the two actors’ interests have overlapped — personally or professionally. So which one of the two will play Dutt better? Our guess is as good as yours.
